Primary Duties: This newly created attorney position will be a part of a dynamic civil litigation team that focuses on strategic and high-stakes litigation defending the sovereignty of Idaho and the rights of her citizens. The Civil Litigation and Constitutional Defense Division works closely with Idaho’s Solicitor General and represents the state in state and federal courts in high profile civil rights and constitutional claims, class actions, major tort claims, administrative law challenges, statutory matters, and section 1983 claims. The attorney selected for this position will participate in all aspects of litigation, including discovery, motion and trial practice, and appeals.
Minimum Qualifications: Must be a member in good standing with the Idaho State Bar or eligible to become a member without taking the bar exam through reciprocity or UBE Score Transfer. Candidates must possess excellent research, writing, client communication, negotiation, and civil litigation skills.
Preferred Qualifications: We invite applications from attorneys at all levels of experience, from entry-level attorneys to those with substantial litigation experience. Starting salary will increase with more experience. Litigation experience in Idaho state and/or federal courts preferred. State or federal clerkship preferred but not required.

Primary Duties: The successful applicant will be responsible for representing the Idaho Transportation Department in civil litigation. Practice areas include real property, contract disputes, and administrative law. The practice includes motion and trial practice in district court, as well as administrative hearings. The attorney will also provide day-to-day legal advice to department employees on a variety of legal issues, evaluate draft legislation, contracts and proposed administrative rules, and handle administrative appeals filed by contractors and other parties.
Minimum Qualifications: Admission to the Idaho State Bar. Experience in state courts and administrative proceedings and the ability to handle a civil litigation caseload are desirable.
Preferred Qualifications: Three or more years of experience in civil litigation is preferred.

Primary Duties: The successful applicant will be assigned to the Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU). The federally funded and mandated MFCU is an interdisciplinary team dedicated to protecting vulnerable individuals and safeguarding the finite resources on which they depend. This position will be responsible for prosecuting cases involving Medicaid provider fraud, as well as patient abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Duties include assisting with investigations and prosecuting cases from the charging phase through trial and sentencing.
Minimum Qualifications: Must be licensed to practice law in Idaho. Jury trial experience is required. Applicant must be willing to occasionally travel throughout the state. Enthusiasm for public service is essential.
Preferred Qualifications: Two years of prosecution experience and experience prosecuting fraud preferred.

Primary Duties: The successful applicant will work in eastern Idaho as a prosecutor for the Idaho Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. This position will prosecute crimes involving child sexual exploitation in the Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh judicial districts with a majority caseload in eastern Idaho. Office location is flexible in eastern Idaho and will depend on where the successful applicant lives or plans to live.
The person who fills this position will be the only prosecutor located in eastern Idaho who works for the Attorney General and may occasionally be asked to stand in for hearings in other cases prosecuted by the office in eastern and south-central Idaho. The successful applicant must be independent, self-motivated, and able to work with little or no supervision.
Primary duties include handling all aspects of criminal prosecution, from search warrant review and screening through trial and sentencing; working closely with investigators throughout the state; and appearing in courtrooms throughout eastern and south-central Idaho.
The Office of the Attorney General prioritizes the mental health and wellbeing of all ICAC personnel. Each ICAC prosecutor is required to meet with a mental health professional annually.
Minimum Qualifications: Must hold an active Idaho Bar license and have first-chair jury trial experience. Must have the ability to frequently travel throughout eastern and south-central Idaho and occasionally travel statewide. A valid driver’s license is required. Must be comfortable managing cases with media attention and demonstrate a strong enthusiasm for public service.
Preferred Qualifications: At least two years of prosecution experience in district court, including experience prosecuting ICAC cases. Familiarity with Fourth Amendment jurisprudence on the search and seizure of electronic devices and data stored in the cloud.

Primary Duties: The successful applicant will serve as 1 of 4 Deputy Attorneys General assigned as in-house counsel to the Idaho Public Utilities Commission. Duties include representing PUC staff in utility rate cases and other litigated administrative proceedings, preparing pleadings, discovery, and settlement documents, and otherwise coordinating the presentation of PUC staff’s case. Deputies also prepare post-hearing decision memoranda, opinions, orders, and notices for the PUC. Other duties may include reviewing and drafting contracts, rules, policies; advising on employment matters, public records law, and open meeting law issues; and advising on other legal issues arising at the PUC.
Minimum Qualifications: Active Idaho State Bar license. Strong writing and editing skills. Ability to work independently and to work well with others (including with engineers, accountants, utility analysts, economists, and opposing counsel). Knowledge of utility regulation can be acquired on-the-job.
Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with government practice, administrative law, appellate court practices, economics, finance, accounting, and antitrust are beneficial.
