Attorney General Obtains Conviction On Bomb Threat
(Boise) - A Jerome County jury has convicted Donald Lynn Tanner for placing a false report of an explosive in a public place, Attorney General Lawrence Wasden said. Following a one-day trial, the jury deliberated for less than an hour before returning the guilty verdict.
Donald Lynn Tanner, 45, Jerome, left a note at The Rock restaurant in Jerome stating there was a bomb in the Jerome County Courthouse.
The Special Prosecutions Unit of the Attorney General's Criminal Law Division took the case at the request of Jerome County Prosecuting Attorney J. Nicholson III. Deputy Attorney General J. Scott James prosecuted the case.
Fifth District Judge Barry Wood set a sentencing hearing for July 11, 2003.
