Attorney General Delivers Check To Payette Senior Center
(Boise) -Attorney General Lawrence Wasden visited the Payette Senior Center to deliver a check for $2,500. Wasden's office awarded a grant to the Payette Senior Center from money received in an antitrust settlement involving price-fixing by an international vitamin cartel.
"The Payette Senior Center will be able to repair its dishwasher, purchase a water conditioner and purchase non-perishable food items," Attorney General Wasden said. "The Payette Senior Center has an outstanding record of support for seniors."
Wasden has notified all Idaho senior centers that provide meals to seniors that $300,000 was being held in trust for grant applications. Fifty-four senior centers have been awarded grants.
"I encourage any Idaho senior center that has not applied for a grant to contact my Consumer Protection Unit to do so," Attorney General Wasden said. "We have awarded more than $155,000 to assist senior centers to date."
In addition to the $300,000 available to senior centers, the court-approved settlement also provided money for other health and nutrition programs in Idaho:
