Attorney General Wasden Applauds Formation of Pro Bono Commission
(Boise) - Attorney General Lawrence Wasden acknowledged the importance of the formation of the Idaho Pro Bono Commission in remarks at its opening meeting today. “Through my work with the Conference of Western Attorneys General, I have seen, firsthand, what happens to a society in which justice is permitted to only a privileged few,” Attorney General Wasden said. Wasden has been working with the Attorneys General of Mexico to implement the “rule of law” into the Mexican Justice system, which, if successful, should reduce both the illicit drug trade and illegal immigration traffic.
“Every citizen should be able to look at his or her attorney, judge, and courthouse with confidence in the system and confidence in their ability to be heard. I am hopeful, for the future of Idaho, that this committee will bring that confidence to each of our citizens,” concluded Attorney General Wasden.
