Former Sheriff Jim Dorion Sentenced
(Boise) – Former Nez Perce County Sheriff Jim Dorion was sentenced today after pleading guilty to one felony count of accessory to a crime, Attorney General Lawrence Wasden said. Second District Judge John Stegner sentenced Dorion to serve up to five years in prison, with two years fixed. The court retained jurisdiction for 150 days.
By pleading guilty, Dorion admitted that, while serving as the Nez Perce County Sheriff, he willfully concealed knowledge of a burglary at Lewiston High School from the Lewiston Police Department.
The Attorney General’s Special Prosecutions Unit prosecuted the case at the request of Nez Perce County Prosecutor Daniel Spickler. Deputy Attorney General Chris Topmiller prosecuted the case.
