Jason Waters Sentenced to Prison for Insurance Fraud
(Boise) – Jason G. Waters, 32, was sentenced to five years in prison today for committing insurance fraud, Attorney General Lawrence Wasden said. Fourth District Judge Darla Williamson also ordered Waters to pay $49,197 in restitution.
Waters, a resident of Emmett, pleaded guilty on April 15, 2010, to one felony count of insurance fraud. By pleading guilty, he admitted that he filed a worker’s compensation claim stating he had injured his foot while employed as a plumber, for Ridgeway Industries when he actually injured his foot and ankle while riding his motorcycle.
The case was investigated by the Idaho Department of Insurance and Liberty Mutual Insurance and prosecuted by Deputy Attorney General Rondee Blessing of the Attorney General’s Insurance Crimes Unit.
