Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Staff to Present on Identity Theft at the Boise Public Library
(Boise) – Consumer specialists from Attorney General Lawrence Wasden’s office will be at the Boise Public Library to present a video and discussion on Identity Theft. Wasden encourages the public to attend the evening session at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3rd, as part of Fraud Awareness Week. The Boise Public Library is located at 715 S Capitol Blvd.
The Attorney General’s pamphlets, Identity Theft, Internet Safety, Consumer Protection Manual, and the recently updated ProtecTeens Internet safety DVD, along with a variety of other consumer pamphlets, will be available at no cost to those in attendance. Consumer specialists will also answer questions about the office’s consumer resources, including how to file a consumer complaint.
The Attorney General’s consumer education program is paid for with money collected from the office’s consumer protection enforcement actions. No tax money is used to pay for consumer education.
The Consumer Protection Division enforces Idaho’s consumer protection laws, provides information to the public on consumer issues, and offers an informal mediation process for individual consumer complaints. To learn more, visit the Consumer Protection section of our website.
