Primary Duties: The successful applicant will be assigned to the Attorney General’s Special Prosecutions Unit. This position will primarily be assigned to public corruption cases but may also be asked to handle cases involving insurance fraud, internet crimes against children, and referrals from county prosecuting attorneys. Prosecutors in this unit may also be assigned to assist county prosecuting attorneys in major cases. Duties of this position include handling all aspects of criminal prosecution, from screening and charging through trial and sentencing; working closely with in-house investigators; and appearing in courtrooms throughout Idaho.
Minimum Qualifications: Must be licensed to practice law in Idaho. Jury trial experience is required. Applicant must be willing to occasionally travel throughout the state and must be comfortable handling cases with media attention. Enthusiasm for public service is essential.
Preferred Qualifications: At least two years of prosecution experience is preferred.

Primary Duties: The successful applicant will provide general counsel services to state agencies and elected officials on a variety of legal issues including statutory interpretation, contracts and procurement, employment issues, and public records requests. The role may also involve occasionally representing agencies in administrative hearings. The State General Counsel Division represents over 60 state agency clients, which provides interesting legal work and the ability to expand one’s legal skills.
Minimum Qualifications: Active Idaho State Bar license is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Idaho administrative law, employment law, education law, and contract drafting is preferred.

Criminal Investigator- Internet Crimes Against Children Unit (ICAC)

Primary Duties: The primary duties of an investigator in the Office of the Attorney General include conducting interviews, obtaining, and analyzing documents and other evidence, serving subpoenas, obtaining and executing search warrants, preparing reports and exhibits, maintaining investigative case files, testifying in court, and interfacing with other law enforcement agencies. Frequent travel throughout Idaho is required.
The successful applicant will be assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit (ICAC) in the Criminal Law Division. This is a sworn law enforcement position. This investigator will be responsible for investigating cases involving technology-facilitated crimes against children. These include exploitation, enticement, sextortion, and hands-on offenses.
This work requires the investigator to frequently view graphic videos, photographs, and chat logs of child sexual exploitation for investigative purposes, such as to establish crimes committed and to locate evidence to be used in the identification/rescue of live victims and the prosecution of offenders. The Office of the Attorney General requires all its employees routinely exposed to such content to participate in a mental health resiliency program run by a certified clinician.
The Office of the Attorney General’s ICAC Unit works with the Idaho ICAC Task Force, a coalition of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute individuals that use technology to victimize Idaho children.
Minimum Qualifications: Current Idaho POST Certification of Intermediate level or higher; minimum education of a high school diploma or equivalent; at least five years law enforcement experience, preferably with an emphasis in investigations; above-average communication and interpersonal skills; a thorough understanding of laws, policies and rules of evidence applicable to Idaho law enforcement service; ability to work both independently and in a close-knit team environment with other investigators and prosecutors; enthusiasm for public service.
Any offer for employment is contingent upon the candidate’s completion of a satisfactory background investigation, which will include fingerprinting, a polygraph, and a psychological evaluation.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience investigating ICAC cases is strongly preferred.

Primary Duties:Will work with attorneys in the Civil Litigation Division who handle cases from across State government involving constitutional and statutory interpretation, tort claims, employment matters and breach of contract claims.
Primary duties include managing large document productions, assisting with database document reviews, processing discovery and responding to document requests, drafting memoranda and analyses, cite checking and Bluebooking briefs, and providing document management support for depositions, hearings and trials.
Minimum Qualifications: Enthusiasm for public service a must. Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must have excellent grammar and proofreading skills. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Must have willingness and ability to learn new programs and processes and cross-train in other support staff positions. Minimum of three (3) years related experience, or equivalent combination of experience and training, is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Two or more years’ experience as a paralegal; familiarity with PACER and the iCourt filing system; familiarity with legal case management systems; experience with iPro discovery management software or other discovery management software; utilization of Microsoft Teams to share and modify documents.
