[BOISE] – Attorney General Raúl Labrador has announced that Charles Derrick Bronson, 43, was convicted of one count of Sexual Exploitation of a Child by Possession of Sexually Exploitative Material (Child Pornography). The Possession of Sexually Exploitative Material is a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Bronson was sentenced on March 11, 2025, by Ada County District Judge Nancy Baskin.

“We will not stop pursuing those predators who exploit and abuse children in our communities,” said Attorney General Labrador.  “Our statewide network of law enforcement partners is growing, and I am proud of the hard work our prosecutors and investigators do to protect the kids of Idaho.  Their dedication delivers results.”

In July 2024, an undercover law enforcement officer in the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit began receiving downloads of thousands of files of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) from an IP address associated with Bronson’s place of residence in Ada County. Around the same time, a CyberTip was received indicating an online account belonging to Bronson also contained files of CSAM. After obtaining search warrants, officers searched Bronson’s home and devices, locating hundreds of files containing CSAM on Bronson’s computer. Many of these files depicted minor females ranging from approximately infant age to fourteen (14) years old engaged in sex acts with adult men.

Judge Baskin sentenced Bronson to a total of ten years and imposed the sentence. Bronson will be eligible for parole after two years. Upon release, Bronson will have to register as a sex offender pursuant to Idaho law.

This case was investigated by Jim Bohr, a detective with the Meridian Police Department who serves in the Attorney General’s ICAC Unit. The case was prosecuted by Deputy Attorney General Madison Allen.
